SPECIFICATION:

1973 Ferrari 250 GTO Replica
One of the best looking and most successful sports racing cars of all time.
The Ferrari 250 GTO has officially been classified as a "work of art". With just 36 examples manufactured
and an asking price of millions(A recent example reputedly sold for £12,500,000 to the broadcaster Chris Evans - they will forever be beyond the reach of mere mortals, however there are a small number of highly convincing replicas available using Ferrari 250 GT or GTE chassis costing £250/500,000.
Here we have a car based on a Datsun 240 Z , the outer panels of which have been removed and replaced by panels manufactured in GRP. The work has been done to a very high standard, with accurate shut gaps to the doors, bonnet and front moulding. The car has been sprayed in base coat and clear lacquer in Ferrari rosso red.Considerable care has been taken to provide an authentic look using the correct front grill, stainless steel headlight covers, correct lights all round, correct front vents, including Ferrari badging.
Interior
Immaculate magnolia leather upholstery (piped in red) . All carpets are red Wilton edged in cream leather to match the upholstery and the door panels and all interior trim are in real leather - not vinyl. This work was carried out by an ex Rolls Royce trimmer at a reputed cost of more than £10,000.
Mechanics
The engine is a 2.6 litre straight six Datsun which has been uprated to "Samuri" specification with a gas flowed cylinder head and the fitting of triple webber 40DCOE carbs. The gearbox is a five speed unit. The whole of the mechanical parts are in first class condition - both visually and in engineering terms. The custom made exhaust system looks authentic and sounds incredible, even experts have commented that it sounds like a V12. Power output is smooth with a very torquey engine producing in the region of 200 BHP. Very reliable and surprisingly economical. The suspension adjusts for ride height and damping.
The car was checked in April this year by the Z Farm expert Duncan Pearcey, who removed and refitted a variety of rear springs to achieve the correct ride height and suspension compliance.
Wheels and Tyres
The car is complemented by chrome and stainless steel centre knock-on Borrani replica wheels with chrome spinners. The recent new tyres are in excellent condition and appropriate 5 rib pattern.
